Yes, I offer virtual appointments but like to meet infants, children and teens face-to-face. Virtual appointments do work well with the options for video footage of infants and young ones eating experience. A combination could mean a face-to-face for a first appointment, and later reviews on line. I try to meet your needs and wishes wherever possible.
The first appointment is an nutritional health overview, comprehensive or extended assessment. Detailing what, when and how much food and drink is consumed in a typical day, providing a good estimate of energy, macro and key micronutrients. We discuss the presenting problem alongside your goals. I can check weight and height, compare to previous growth and refer to growth charts. We talk through dietary treatment options and meeting your goals, providing a written summary following the appointment.
No, I do not take blood or carry out allergy testing.
Yes, I regularly work with a range of other health professionals, both independent and NHS colleagues.
Ideally yes, but virtual appointments can work well with children too. For infants and young ones, video footage of eating experience is very helpful. I like to hear a child's lived experience, and for some children meeting F2F is really helpful. I am open to and can work around your preferences.
Yes, you are welcome to bring other family members. In fact, sometimes it’s very helpful e.g. for young children who become restless or energetic during the appointment and need some fresh air. It can sometimes be helpful if one adult wants to focus on the conversation, whilst the other attends to the child's needs.
Yes, do please book a free discovery call to discuss your needs.
Please bring your community child record or red book with growth measurements for young ones. A drink and/or snack for young children, or milk or food for observing a baby. Any test results or letters you feel are relevant to our appointment.
I do not routinely examine a child, although with permission I may demonstrate positions for feeding or movements with infants to alleviate abdominal discomfort. I may also ask children to demonstrate toileting positions.
Yes, unless the child is not happy to be weighed. If a child becomes upset for any reason during weighing, I will not pursue; estimates are possible with weighing parent and child together. I offer head circumference measurement for children up to 2 years of age.
You are welcome to contact me by email, if you do have unanswered questions following the appointment. I offer 30 or 60 minute reviews should you want to stay supported or tweak your current plan. For issues that arise following the appointment, it is best to book a review.
Firstly, check your insurer will reimburse the full amount for your fees. Use my name and HCPC Code DT05478. They may provide you with an authorisation code for the appointment. Please book a discovery call to discuss.
I am registered with most healthcare insurers, Aviva, AXA, Cigna, Healix, Vitality and WPA with the HCPC Code DT05478. I am not registered with BUPA.
For cancellations with less than 48 hours-notice, it is our policy that no reimbursements can be made. Late cancellation means these appointments are unavailable for others.
You may cancel or reschedule your appointment up to 48 hours before your appointment by amending your Calendly appointment, using your Calendly link. Refunds will be made directly to your payment method.
